Nuno Osório was born in Vila Nova de Famalicão. He began his musical studies at the Escola Profissional e Artística do Vale do Ave (ARTAVE), where he studied with Professor Rui Fontes between 2009 and 2015. He continued his higher education in Germany, at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim, where he completed his degree under the guidance of Petru Iuga and Konstanze Brenner (2015–2019). Between 2019 and 2022, he attended the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne (Switzerland), where he completed two master’s degrees: the Master Solist, and subsequently, the Master in Orchestra.

At the orchestral level, he has had the opportunity to work with the European Union Youth Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Sinfonie Orchester Biel Solothurn, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester, the Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa, among others. Since 2021, he has been a member of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (Geneva), initially as tutti musician and, since 2025, as co-principal of the double bass section.

As a soloist, he has performed with orchestra on several occasions. In 2017, he performed Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto with the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester. In 2021, he performed the Koussevitsky Concerto with the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne and recorded the CD The Soul of the Double Bass in collaboration with pianist Yukiko Tanaka.

He has been distinguished in several national and international competitions, including an honorable mention at the Prémio Jovens Músicos, higher level (2013), 1st Prize at the Galícia Graves International Competition (Spain, 2016), 2nd Prize at the Vasco Barbosa Competition (2015), 2nd Prize at the Prémio Jovens Músicos (2017), 2nd place at the Latin Orchestra of Europe International Online Competition (2021), and 3rd place at the Recital Music Composition Competition (2021).
