PROGRAM
> Mystique and Fantasy

19 February — 9:00 pm

Igreja dos Clérigos

Supported by the Brotherhood of the Clérigos, this concert invites the audience on an immersive journey through diverse aesthetic worlds, in a program marked by fantasy, mysticism, and virtuosity. Works by Mozart, Bruch, and Enescu engage in dialogue with the more introspective dimension found in Debussy, Amy Beach, and Bortkiewicz, while the technical brilliance and expressive flair of Bottesini and Kreisler bring energy and contrast to the musical journey.

Nuno Osório, acclaimed young double bassist and principal of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, opens the concert alongside pianist Isolda Crespi, performing a set of works that explore expressive contrasts and varied sonic aesthetics, ranging from profound lyricism to virtuosic brilliance.

Italian pianist Alessandra Ragno follows with a solo recital spanning two distinct stylistic periods, revealing, on one hand, Mozart’s refined and dramatic virtuosity, and on the other, the intense, narrative lyricism of Sergei Bortkiewicz.

The concert concludes with António Francisco Ferreira and Bernardo Soares, presenting a program inspired by the French tradition but enriched with rhythmic and sound influences from other stylistic identities, leading the audience to a vibrant finale full of imagination.
